The Biblical new year starts at the spring equinox. The time of year when the length of the day and the length of the night are equal. The Encyclopedia Britannica, 1944 edition, Vol. 4, states under “Calendar – Ecclesiastical Calendar” that “The Jews celebrated their Passover on the 14th day of the first month, that is to say, the lunar month of which the 14th day either falls on or next follows the day of the vernal equinox.” The vernal equinox is usually sometime in the end of March no date specified as it changes from year to year.
